FRANCHISE AND DISTRIBUTION LITIGATION / ARBITRATION / MEDIATION PRACTICE
For the past 20 years, Mr. Millerick has successfully handled a variety of franchisor/franchisee and distributor disputes on behalf of both franchisors and franchisees. His practice has included representation of clients in many states in addition to California. Some of Mr. Millerick's clients are long-term while others have single matters which they want litigated, arbitrated or mediated as the occasion requires. Mr. Millerick has handled hundreds of litigation matters in his career and well over 500 arbitration and mediation matters.
Mr. Millerick has also been selected and testified in arbitration proceedings as an expert concerning franchise and distribution matters.
Mr. Millerick has been a member of the California Bar since 1987 and is a member of the American Bar Association, a Franchise Forum member, a member of the California State Bar Franchise Committee, and is an affiliate member of the International Franchise Association. The California State Bar certified Mr. Millerick as a Franchise & Distribution Law Specialist in 2009.
CONSTRUCTION DEFECT PRACTICE
Mr. Millerick has successfully handled numerous construction defect matters ranging from single homeowner issues to multiple unit condominium and commercial building litigation. His practice includes handling matters which involve significant earth movement and landslide issues as well as more typical homeowner claims such as leaking windows, leaking roofs, or faulty component construction. Mr. Millerick has obtained many significant settlements and jury verdicts on behalf of his clients in the various construction defect matters he has handled over the past twenty-three years.
INSURANCE COVERAGE / BAD FAITH PRACTICE
Mr. Millerick has had the privilege of representing many large corporations and governmental agencies, including the Port of San Diego and the County of San Diego, in numerous significant insurance coverage/bad faith matters. He has negotiated several multi-million dollar awards on behalf of his clients and has developed expertise in handling insurance matters involving pollution and environmental losses. In addition, Mr. Millerick has regularly represented individuals and small businesses concerning insurance issues of all types including general liability claims, professional liability, property losses, and other personal insurance matters.
